FAQ

Common Questions

What do Physical Therapists (PT) do?
Physical Therapists are licensed medical professionals, educated in maximizing movement in order to improve the human experience.

Some of our services include rooting out sources of pain, addressing limitations in strength and range of motion, and correcting postural deficits and poor body mechanics.

Physical therapists often provide services both pre- and post-operatively to ensure best possible outcomes following an array of medical procedures.

What can you expect from your physical therapy visits?
During your initial visit, expect to spend 45 minutes to one hour with your physical therapist.

We will perform a comprehensive health history screen, discuss testing procedures, evaluate your posture, movement, flexibility, and muscle performance, and establish your goals for physical therapy.

You can expect a diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care based on your performance evaluation and the goals. Your visit concludes with a physical therapy treatment, intervention, and self-management recommendations.

Your follow-up visits will include a brief reassessment, followed by hands-on treatment, then making necessary modifications to your intervention and self-management program to keep you on track to reaching your goals.

How does mobile physical therapy work?
Simply put, we come to you.

We ask that you schedule your appointment at least 24-hours in advance with your desired time and location.

Once your appointment is confirmed, we will arrive at the location to set up ahead of your appointment (5-10 minutes before) so that we can get started promptly at your requested time.

We are dedicated to providing care throughout your entire time slot; we never cut into a patient’s appointment to set up or close up.

How long is a session?
Our typical treatment sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour.

If, however, we find that you need more or less work during the session, we can make quick adjustments to make sure you get complete and appropriate care.

Where can a session take place?
Short answer — anywhere.

Just let us know where and when to meet you and we’ll be there at your convenience.

What kind of person would benefit most from mobile physical therapy?
Mobile physical therapy is a great option for those who are unable to travel to a brick-and-mortar clinic, those who are tight on time, and anyone who needs physical therapy.

We provide the same services as a clinic in a physical location; our practice is not limited in any way just because we are mobile.

Are there any patients / age groups you do NOT work with?
No.

Our practitioners are skilled in working with people of all ages and conditions. However, should you need services other than physical therapy, we will discuss options with you to ensure you get the proper care.

Is cash-pay physical therapy right for me?

Cash-based physical therapy is more affordable than you might think. We firmly believe that we provide the best quality of care possible because we’re cash-based.

Is there an office or location where clients can meet you?
At this time, no. But a benefit of a mobile practice is not only the convenience to you but also lower operational expenses, savings which are passed directly to our patients.
How far can you travel?
New World Performance and Physical Therapy is based out of Dana Point, CA.

Currently, we offer services in the south Orange County area, or anywhere within a 15 mile radius of Capistrano Beach.

Our therapists can travel outside of this area for a small fee. ($25 for every 15 miles outside our designated practice area.)

E.g. +$25 for Newport, Irvine, Oceanside, and Rancho Santa Margarita; +$50 for Huntington Beach, Carlsbad, and Anaheim.

Will you accept any type of medical insurance?
